Veronika Scott experienced homelessness as a child, but that didn’t stop her from attending college and starting her own company, The Empowerment Plan, that employs homeless parents and is challenging perceptions of the homeless. Sam Acho – NFL Player Committed to Excellence in Football, Education and Service to Others

Each year, the National Football League awards the Walter Payton Man of the Year award to a player who exemplifies excellence both on and off the field. Each team nominates a player who it believe embodies this spirit. This year the Chicago Bears nominated Sam Acho for his work in helping provide medical care to poor villagers in Nigeria.
